Riders dipped their bikes into the Pacific Ocean to start their journey

Arrival and Reception

Around 2 PM, the riders will gather at the Georgetown Waterfront Park at Wisconsin Avenue (eastern end of the park) to ceremonial dip their bikes into the water, echoing the start of their trip.

At 3 PM, friends and family members are encouraged to greet the riders as they end their ride. Gather at Lafayette Park, opposite the White House and look for our Hazon and Cross-USA Ride banners. After a congratulations and a quick photo op, the riders will continue to their overnight accommodations to settle in.

Week 9 Journey
(Sunday, August 11 – Thursday, August 15)

It’s the final week! We can’t believe it. Our riders begin in uniquely-named Ohiopyle, a city that is not in Ohio, but Pennsylvania. The riders then cross state lines again into Cumberland, Maryland. From here they are one state away–can you feel the excitement? Next on the agenda is Williamsport, MD, followed by Fairfax, VA. Fairfax is the final destination before the riders reach our nation’s capital, Washington, DC, where they will hopefully take a long, satisfying rest after 9 weeks of riding a bike! We are so proud of our riders for completing this major accomplishment.
