Tishrei 5781: Fall Holidays at Freedman

Sep 25, 2020 - Oct 11, 2020

Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center, Falls Village, CT

Escape to the Berkshires for intimate, socially distanced holidays this Fall.

We are able to welcome guests to Isabella Freedman, in a thoughtful, socially-distancing manner. Due to COVID-19 precautions, we will be operating at a reduced capacity with outdoor dining and prayer options.

Shabbat Shuva & Yom Kippur • Sukkot • Simchat Torah

Please note that we have a private group rental during Rosh Hashanah, but we are open for all other holidays.

Meals: Each group or family will have their own designated table in dining tent (or sukkah), separate from other guests. Food service will primarily be pre-packed grab-and-go options. We provide 3 meals for each full day of your stay, plus dinner on arrival day and brunch before you depart. Our kitchen and dining room are glatt kosher under supervision of the Hartford Kashrut Commission.

Lodging: Due to COVID safety guidelines, we are only using housing options with private bathrooms. Larger family parties may receive suites of rooms that share a bathroom.

Full Week Rental Option: In addition to our normal guest lodges, we have a limited number of houses (3-bed, 2-bath) which can be rented for longer stays, including for the entire week of Sukkot. If you are interested in these, please contact Simone Stallman at registrar@hazon.org.

Prayer Options: Each holiday will have a different style of davening, detailed below, which are open to all. All options will be held outdoors, with social distancing observed.

Other Programming: The lake is opening for boating and swimming, and our trails and grounds are open for exploring. We hope to plan limited outdoor programming such as yoga or tours of our farm.

COVID Precautions: In addition to outdoor dining, all of our indoor programming spaces will be closed. Masks are required during our indoor meal pick up, while davening, or when outdoors in close proximity to guests not in your party. We have an extensive waiver and questionnaire which all guests must complete upon arrival.

Costs: Each retreat is priced at $225/night per adult and $115/night per child ages 5-15. This cost includes all lodging, food, and programming. Due to our COVID housing structure, we only have one price point for lodging options.
