Well qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview with the JOFEE Fellowship Director. These may be conducted at our NY office for candidates in the NY area; or may be conducted online via video chat.
Successful applicants will move into the finalist stage by receiving a conditional acceptance to the JOFEE Fellowship, and will then move into matching.
Finalists will be connected to interview directly with open host placements, which may include both organizations who focus directly on JOFEE and/or Jewish institutions with a broader communal focus. Many organizations host Fellows in multiple cohorts, while others are new to the Fellowship each year. To see where JOFEE Fellows have been placed in previous cohorts, take a look at our Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 bios.
When finalists have received and accepted an employment offer from a site placement, they will be sent final paperwork for acceptance into the JOFEE Fellowship to review and sign.
Note on Direct Nominations – placements have the option of directly nominating a candidate as their JOFEE Fellow. This may be an existing employee or someone else with whom the organization has an existing relationship. All candidates must complete a full application and interview with JOFEE Fellowship staff. If you currently work for a Jewish organization/institution who fits the criteria for host placement and would like to apply in conjunction with your current employer, please review the site placement requirements and have your organization get in touch with us here at Hazon.
