Bike to the Beach is on Sunday!

Here are some important details. Please give this email a thorough read-through to help ensure that the ride is a fun and safe experience for everyone!

 

Preparing for the Ride:

  1. Wear a helmet. This is mandatory – no one will be allowed to ride without a helmet.
  2. Eat a good breakfast!
  3. Make sure your tires are full of air and your bike is in good working order.
  4. Fill up your water bottles before you leave home.
  5. Bring snacks for the road and a spare tube for your tire (recommended).
  6. Arrive at the starting location at least 5-10 minutes before roll-out time.
  7. You do NOT need to bring a lock – your bike will be watched while we are at Ocean Beach!

 

Starting Times & Details:

When you arrive at your chosen starting location, find your Ride Leaders – they will be wearing brightly-colored Hazon jerseys. Be sure to sign in and get a cue sheet with directions for the route.

Rides will leave promptly at the listed start times. Please don’t be late! Plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your group is scheduled to depart.

East Bay/Rockridge BART Riders meet at 10:15am.

Meet outside the station by the escalator and take the 10:31am train into SF (be sure to bring BART fare). Get off at Civic Center Station and ride from there! Your Ride Leaders are Whitney Pollack, Suzie Rose, and Miriam Feiner.

San Francisco/Mission Dolores Riders meet at 10:30am.

Meet outside the Dolores Park Cafe (Dolores & 18th) for a safety briefing. Depart around 11:00am. Your Ride Leaders are Liore Milgrom-Gartner and Morgan Blum.

Peninsula/SoMa Caltrain Riders meet at 10:36am.

Ride Caltrain up from the Peninsula, arriving at San Francisco Station (4th St.) at 10:36am. Meet near the corner of Townsend & 4th, near Bicycle Parking, and depart by 10:50am. Your Ride Leader is Adam Arenstein.

NOTE: The Marin/Mill Valley Ride has been cancelled due to lack of interest; however, we will provide cue sheets for you to guide yourself. If you wish to ride from Mill Valley, please contact adam.kotin@hazon.org ASAP.

Last-Minute Questions? Email adam.kotin@hazon.org. If you lose the group or wish to meet us at the end, our Ocean Beach location will be under the beige tent across the highway from the Windmill.

 

Lunch and T-shirts:

If you ordered lunch and/or a t-shirt when you registered, we’ll have it waiting for you at Ocean Beach. You can pre-order lunch until Friday morning by clicking here.

T-shirts will be available for purchase at the end of your ride. No need to pre-order.

 

Last-Minute Riders:

You can still bring friends and family on Sunday! They can register here or simply show up on Sunday morning ready to ride.
