Relief Garden Initiative 2021

Mar 17, 2021 - Sep 17, 2021

Back again for the 2nd year, we’re growing local produce for communal resilience.
We’ll deliver compost and seeds for you to grow at home. Harvest and eat what you need, then donate the rest.

Last year, as Covid-19 was spreading, Hazon Detroit acted quickly to ensure that our community had the chance to grow food for themselves and their neighbors. With your help, we were able to distribute over 500 grow kits, giving away compost, seeds, and free garden education. Together, we harvested thousands of pounds of fresh, local produce and donated hundreds. This year, although vaccines are becoming more accessible and much more is known about the virus, food insecurity is still a major issue for many of us, our friends and our family.

Sign up now to participate in this year’s version of the Relief Garden Initiative. We’ll deliver free compost and seeds directly to you and we’ll make sure you have access to any garden education you need to get planting. When the food is ready to be harvested, pick it for yourself to enjoy the fruits of your labor, and donate as much or as little as you can. We’ll even help you figure out where to bring donations.

Deliveries will begin the week of April 5th and will continue throughout the summer.
Donations for this project are gratefully appreciated. You can donate
here or send a check to “Hazon” at 25 Broadway, Suite 1700, New York, NY 10004.

With your help we can get seeds in the ground, freshly grown food in our bellies, and donated harvests on the tables of those in need this growing season. Grow a Relief Garden and help sow the seeds of communal resilience!
