3rd Annual Hazon California Ride and Retreat
The California Ride and Retreat is now just four weeks away. With great anticipation and excitement, Hazon staff and Planning Committee members are looking forward to seeing you there and sharing this experience with you.
All participants must submit a completed logistics form by Tuesday, May 1st. The logistics form asks about transportation, housing, and other details and will enable us to best accommodate your individual needs. Please see below for information on transportation for yourself and for your bicycle.

If you are registered for crew, please join us for a crew orientation call. Crew calls will be an opportunity to understand your crew role, get your questions answered, build community, and brainstorm creative ways to make the ride memorable. Please choose one of the following dates (you do not need to participate in both, but you can if you’d like).
These calls are very important because the time we’ll spend together Thursday night before the Ride is limited and can feel rushed.

Transporting yourself, your bike, and your luggage to the ride can be challenging. We have arranged various ways to help get you there with as little stress as possible. For more information, please see our transportation page on the Hazon website.
San Francisco Bus: We have arranged a bus leaving from Jewish Community High School (1835 Ellis Street) in San Francisco at 4:30 PM. If BART is more convenient for you, there will be a pick up at Civic Center BART station at 4:00 PM.
Los Angeles Bus: We have arranged a round trip bus from Milken Community High School (15800 Zeldins Way) in Los Angeles. The bus will leave Los Angeles at 9:00 AM on Thursday and will leave San Francisco on Sunday around 3:30 PM.
By Car: Please indicate on your logistics form if you plan to drive to Camp Newman and Hazon will help to coordinate carpools. If you choose to drive, please note that we will use your car as part of crew. Your vehicle will arrive back at JCHS in time for our closing ceremony.
By Plane: If you choose to fly, please plan to arrive at SFO by 2 PM in order to catch the bus from San Francisco, which departs from Civic Center BART at 4 PM.
Virgin America has offered a 10% discount and free bike shipping for out of town participants who are flying in for the California Ride. Visit the transportation page for additional information.
We will help transport your bike to the Ride from the Bay Area and Los Angeles at no additional cost. We’ll offer bike loading at the following times and locations:
San Francisco: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM, near 16th Street Mission BART
East Bay: 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM, Ashby BART
San Francisco: 3:45 PM at Jewish Community High School
Los Angeles: 8:30 AM at Milken Community High School
Bike Rentals: If you would like to rent a bike please choose from either theCypress Comfort Hybrid $90 or the Defy 2 Road Bike $150. Let us know your sizing information on the logistics form, and we will coordinate dropoff at Camp Newman and pickup at the end of the Ride.
Each year, the Hazon California Ride and Retreat is joined by a dedicated group of individuals and families that help to support the ride as Crew. The crew is an integral part of the ride community and we are thrilled to welcome the handful of crew that have already registered!
