Ekar Farm, Denver, CO
Ekar, Denver’s Jewish Urban Tzedakah Farm is in Need of Help!
Come to Ekar for a morning of community service and fun in the dirt!
The farm was very devastated by the hail on June 24th. We’ll being working extra hard as we replant the farm following the hail storm and strive to revive our season of growing and giving (our veggies go to JFS, Kavod Senior Living, SAME Cafe and other hunger-relief agencies).
Join us on Sundays: July 5th, 12th and 19th
This is a great opportunity for us to meet, mingle and enjoy summer together.
Feel free to bring your children, family and friends. Kids should be over 3 to participate – Ekar has pint-sized tools.
Make sure to bring a hat, waterbottle, sunscreen and appropriate shoes (ones that can get a little dirty and protect your toes!)
Ekar Farm is an urban farm dedicated to educating the community about sustainable agriculture practices and food justice, and donating fresh, healthy organic produce to a local food bank. In recognition of the challenges facing farmers due extreme precipitation state-wide in May, and their inability to donate fresh food to food shelters, Ekar is considering switching to donating 100% of the veggies grown (typically 70%).
Donations can also be made to support the effort –
